Filing tax jointly

Hi Everyone,
My spouse is a housewife and therefore unemployed. If I file taxes jointly will our personal income tax allowance be doubled and taken into consideration? As opposed to be filing alone and getting only one person's allowance.
Also, I am employed (not self employed) so not sure if this makes a difference.
Any suggestions please.
Thanks.

You only get one allowance, you can't use her allowance.0

Are you in the UK?
You cannot file tax returns jointly and you cannot transfer her unused allowance to you.
