Help and advice needed
We have just moved into a domestic dwelling house property which has two gas meters and two electricity meters - it was once a long time ago two flats which explains why this is the case.
Consequently I am paying four sets of standing charges i.e. a standing charge for each meter, which is a situation I want to reverse if possible.
Rewiring and re plumbing the four meters to change this so that the supply enters the house through only two meters would be difficult and is cost prohibitive, and I am aware there are tariffs which do not have standing charges within them but the rate per unit is higher so any potential saving on my part would be largely negated.
My pleas to Scottish Power have fallen on deaf ears - any suggestions regarding any other options please?

AFAIAA there are no other options. You currently have 2 supplies so have to pay for them. This should have been picked up on the survey / electrical checks (which you had done ?) and the offer price adjusted accordingly.0

You can thank the government, to make it simplier for those would can't understand their bills suppliers have beenn told to stop Tier 1 & 2 tarifffs and switch over to Tier 1 and Standing Charge tariffs.
As has already been said didn't you look into this before renting/buying the property?IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
