Babz Media - eBay seller - shoddy Cust Serv.

Beware of Babz Media !
I purchased a cyclone media player 3 from Babz Media back in April of this year (2013) of which has now become defective in August.
I contacted the retailer via eBay messages and I was told to return the item so as they could inspect and return to manufacturer to establish exact kind of fault. Item returned and they have acknowledged safe receipt of this.

I was advised I could either have a new unit sent out to me or a refund, I opted for the refund.

They initially started by saying they cant refund without the transaction ID due to being over a few months of which I've obtained from PayPal and forwarded to them. Babz Media are now claiming that they can't refund due to an alleged problem with my PayPal account and that they have 'emailed' PayPal. I've called PayPal myself and they confirm my account is all fine!

Babz tell me to contact Paypal / PayPal tell me to contact retailer !!

I ask them to refund by sending a normal PayPal payment of which they decline this due to the fact I want my charges from PayPal covered as I'm not going to be out of pocket, I then suggest they pay me via another method such as bank transfer / cheque etc only to be told by their clown 'oh no, it's illegal to send money like that' followed by a discussion about legalities whereby they eventually admit its company policy and not illegal - we only use PayPal !

To call them 'Jokers' is being far too polite...
Very shoddy Customer service and lots of buck-passing going on.
They'll take your money, but don't want to return it....

    I agree stay away from Babz Media

    I recently purchased a bike lock where the barrel for some reason fell our while i was travelling on my bike.

    I took photos and sent the photos to them , but they say they need me to return the item to them so they can examine this to see where the fault is at my cost.

    I paid £3 for this lock and because of weight it is going to cost me approx.£2 to return which they say they wont refund, so to cost me £2 to returned a £3 item is pointless. ebay and paypal wont do anything as its over 45 days.

    I've used them three or four times in the last 12 months or so and am happy to say they've given me no problems. They have the volume of sales that most ebay sellers dream of having and appear to have a lot of repeat customers.
  • I bought a fan from them over the summer. It was an awful product, completely broken but I must say their customer service was good and I got a prompt refund. Wouldn't use them again because of the quality of their stuff, but at least I got my money back.

    Never had an issue with them, been buying their Californian scents regularly and always swift transactions and delivery

    Have you called them?
  • I have used them many times for buying Blank DVD's - never had a problem, delivery has been super-quick
