Shocking service from Worldstores

Have had the unfortunate experience of purchasing goods from Worldstores. Goods havn't been delivered, have had to wait up to 40 minutes to get through to customer services to be given another date. Goods weren't delivered on that date either. Just posting this to warn everyone out there to NOT buy from WORLDSTORES.

  • I also had a problem with Worldstores, AKA sofabedworld. I ordered a sofa bed from them for my daughters room and was given a delivery date. The day before the due delivery date, I received a phone call from the manufacturer who supplies furniture to Worldstores who said they are still waiting for me to let them know if a black sofabed was okay as they don't make them in lilac. I told the lady from the manufacturer that I had not heard anything about this and I was expecting delivery next day after waiting for 3 weeks. I was told the manufacturer had contacted Worldstores on numerous occasions to ask them to stop advertising their products as available in other colours as they don't make them in all the colours Worldstores advertise them as available in.

I contacted Worldstores and cancelled the order. I eventually received a refund from them but from what the manufacturer told me, I wouldn't order anything from them again.

Worldstores in my experience are fine - it's their choice of couriers I had problems with. Summarised as trying to deliver before the promised delivery window (so we weren't there to take delivery), and failing to leave a card to say they'd called. Thus we sat in our house for 5 days, waiting for a delivery that was never going to come, and as they hadn't left a card, we didn't re-arrange delivery until the window had expired and we rang Worldstores to see what was happening. Further comedy of errors followed but Worldstores themselves were fine. Furniture is good, at the right price, but an organised delivery company would have helped.
  • What an experience. I ordered a heater last Friday from Worldstores. I selected Monday for delivery as I don't work Monday. I arose at 7. I didn't even shower lest I missed the door-bell. I sat around the whole day, thinking of everything I could be doing. In the end I sent 4 emails, the second advising of my work address for delivery today, the fourth asking for a refund. No reply to any missive. I phoned the 0844 number today. No apology, no interest, no service-just you can have your money back within 3 to 5 days. Never again. Why did I not read these forum's comments before? A truly dreadful company
