is this proof of purchase

Hi
I bought my phone from a Tesco mobile shop on the 02 network and it has a fault. Having rung around I have established that Tesco are responsible for fixing it as it is still under their warranty ( i got the phone 4 months ago). I have however lost the paperwork which proofs proof of purchase EXCEPT for a direct debit set up page. On this page the sales assistant wrote where I bought it, his name, and his signature. It has also been dated and signed by myself. I have been on the phone to Tesco and they say this is ok as proof of purchase but I wanted to ask someone who knows more about this than myself and probably the person on the phone. Is this peice of paper good enough as a proof of purchase?

ive lost all the paperwork that came with it apart form the Direct Debit piece. So I havent got the paper contract......:-(0

Tesco will have sufficient information to identify you, afterall they wouldn't have a problem chasing you for money if you cancelled the direct debit. The phone will have unique identifiers too (IMSI on the sim and IMEI on the phone I think) so they should be able to link it to your contract.0

I think you are worrying too much, you've already checked with Tesco and they say it's fine, so take it back and get it fixed.0

even though my network provider is 02?? My contract isn't with Tesco Mobile it's with 02 but I bought it in a Tesco. The Sales of Goods Act should cover it I've been told. I'll just use the DD sheet and hope for the best.....

Sorry but you are not making much sense.
You say that Tesco are responsible for fixing it, they have agreed to accept your proof of purchase so what do O2 have to do with it?0 -

it doesn't matter who provides the network.
if you bought it from Tesco, then the phone is from Tescos and its up to them to sort it out.
its the same with any 3rd party.
was it actually an o2 contract or a tesco mobile one ?
(not that it matters as its up to the 3rd party to sort out anyways)0
