Think that it is a bit of a sad world when "little Sweeties" sit on your wall without your permission and heaven forbid if something happened you could be liable.

Sorry I know it is not very PC but it gets my goat! If they are on your wall without your permission and they hurt themselves ( it has not fallen down lose bricks to trip over ) then it really should be their own fault.

I think that the best suggestion is make it higher.
Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A
  • If we'd have known what the kids were like we wouldn't have bought the house!

I'm talking 3 year olds telling their Gran to f off and 8 year olds setting fire to aerosols. It's a great place to raise our new baby!

We don't use the garden, partly because it's so exposed and partly because it's just a concrete yard. We'll want to at some point though so doing something to get more privacy is definitely needed.

It just sounds like a dodgy area if theyre like that! If they're not teenagers who are the same size as you or anything then id ask them nicely to move. If they don't try a firmer approach. They rely on you being scared of them. Do you have a scary looking husband/brother?

And sounds like you need definitely need a proper fence if you can't even use your own garden.
  • We has the same problem - and grew a holly bush so it covered part of the wall. Pricked behind if you try now!

Sounds like you live near me. The kids would make Sailors blush. I'd recommend if you can put a bit of cash aside and either make the walls higher, or you can buy sort of garden 'dividers' from B&Q and the like which could be a good six foot and give you lots of privacy. It might just be concrete, but I'd bet you can do it really nice, maybe some potted herbs, nice garden set etc, but first you need to feel comfortable to relax in it!

Edit: Maybe something like this: http://www.diy.com/nav/garden/fencing-paving-decking/fencing/trellis___screening/Grange-Woodberry-Lattice-Trellis-Pane-H-1-14m-10086569.

We have a fence that was done really half-arsed by the builders and kids could almost put their heads through the slats. As a temporary solution, we've got this all over http://www.diy.com/nav/garden/fencing-paving-decking/fencing/trellis___screening/Blooma-Natural-Fern-Screening-L-4m-x-W-2m-11987860 and it's absolutely wonderful for 'blocking' out the undesirables.

I would paint the top of it with anti vandal paint, they won't sit on it then! And it's not something that would bother you either, also good for security.

    I don't think you're supposed to use anti-vandal paint below 2m.

If you put it on a low wall that you know children sit on, you'll probably have a string of parents demanding compensation for damaged clothing.

Well it's been the law since the 1950s, so no chance of it changing any time soon!

I agree about making it higher or using trellis or prickly plants as other posters have mentioned.
  • If you can afford it buy some nice metal decorative spikes to put ont he wall so they can't sit on it.

There are cheaper spike options (eg:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Primrose-Fence-Security-Spikes-Strips/dp/B001S80U26

    http://www.primrose.co.uk/fence-and-wall-spikes-strip-p-365.html)

A neighbour near me has some that look like a row of nails which probably came in a strip. I'd have a little google for similar things.

Good luck! It's very annoying, so hope it gets sorted!
