Getting a free 'score' from Experian

Hi all,

Keen to see what my Experian score is (to be served with a huge pinch of salt for all the obvious reasons snd really just out of total curiousity) even though it is worthless. Can't sign up for a free trial as have had one 'recently' (although at start of 2012 and didnt include the score either). Emailing and asking has not resolved this.

Any other suggestions?

Try CheckMyFile - they show the Callcredit / equifax & Experian Scores (as you know for what they are worth...).. Think they do quidco too for a bit back for trying...

checkmyfile don't have access to all your data from Experian, so an 'Experian' score would be (even more!) meaningless from them.

They used to have a table on their site listing what information was missing from each CRA. I can't find it now (that's not to say it isn't still there), but take a look at their examples and advertising blurb here and note the omission of any Experian data...

You can also check annualcreditreport.co.uk and givemecredit.com - they are both similar to checkmyfile, with 30 days free trial and easy cancellation options (via message center when logged in). So at least you can have 2 additional credit reports for the future if you need it.

3rd party credit reports are just like 3rd party insurance as both of them don't dont cover everything.

Some have reported being able to get a second free trial out of experian using a different email address and ticking the 'not sure' answer to whether you have had the trail before.

Failing that and if you really wanted to see it I suppose you could pay for it?

I got a second free trial this way, but my trials were 4 years apart (one in 2009 and one a few months ago).
