sick leave and working tax credit

I work 24 hours and my partner isn't working at the moment so I claim working tax credit and child tax for our child. I have been off work sick for about 22 weeks and trying to return to work. They have offered a phased return meaning I would be working less hours for a few weeks until I could manage more. Would I have to declare this to hmrc as I'm still officially contracted for 24 hours, would it affect it at all?
Thanks
Thanks

There is a 4 week 'run on' for tax credits in these circumstances.
If you are unable to return to work for your full 24 hours then you need to contact them.

You may be able to go back and just work 16hrs and get a disability enhancment payment on top as you have been on the sick for a long time, that's what i get though i qualified as i came straight from ESA to part time 16hrs working self employed.
Give them a ring and see if you qualify as your circumstances are different to mine.0 -
