Cleaning Jobs and Housing Benefit

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can answer this question for me. well what it is my adviser today at the work programme told me I need to start applying for cleaning jobs other then packing and warehouse work.

Anywhere everyone knows cleaning jobs is not a good wage however if I get a cleaning Job will I still get housing benefit towards help for my rent for my 1 bedroom flat? as at the moment I get the full housing benefit and will I still get the full housing benefit if I get a job or will I have to pay some rent?

Well it has to be NMW and I have no idea if you get housing for earning NMW - I would like to think not.

Why are you applying for a job when you will not be better off in work

Its only £61.90 a week!!!

And they can not make you apply for a job that's less than JCA!!

My adviser told me to apply for cleaning jobs and she said next appointment she wants to see job applications for cleaning. So I had no choice as I don't want to be sanctioned.

So if you get it, you will take it as its less than the JCA?

You should not be restricting your job search to one job role only. Apply for anything and everything that you could do. Be sure to tailor your application for each job.

Well I had no choice applying for it because if my adviser don't see jobs made for cleaning and she could get me sanctioned and I will be worse of as I will have no money/income.

Why don't you ask the said advisor how you will manage on the salary for this job if you were to get it

Well I might not get it as I never get any feedback from my Job applications anyway, but the main thing is that I applied.
