Laying used Parquet flooring

Hi All,
I have acquired some parquet flooring to cover my kitchen floor. Its not the really thick large blocks, but the smaller thinner ones, four finger size ones make a square.
It has a bit of bitumen on the bottom but only a really thin layer that hardly really covers them.
Does anyone know the best way to lay it, there are all sorts of ways, and I know its not an easy job, but would be grateful for some guidance.
Thanks all xxx
