Hi
I am a Virgin Media customer and intend to cancel my landline.
I currently have landline & broadband but have found that I no longer use the landline and so wish to be broadband only.
I have had the install just over 12 months.
Before I ring them to cancel does anyone here have any experience doing this or are there any offers worth knowing about?
Thanks.

It is sometimes cheaper to keep the landline and broadband package, as you get discounted broadband for having a landline.
Ring retentions though and see what deals you can get, because you should be out of contract.0 -
do you know what your minimum term is, as this could limit your options.
sometimes its 18 months, so you might still be stuck in a contract
also, remember if you remove the landline, the cost of the broadband will increase0 -
Thanks for your replies.
I just double checked my minimum terms and the broadband is 12 months - can't find the landline but even if it is 18 I have only 3 months left which is £12 exit fee. I reckon I'd save £7.50 a month based on the increased price of the broadband so still worth doing.
So as I am out of contract on the broadband perhaps it is worth trying to cancel both and seeing what retention deals they offer me?0 -
It may be worthwhile looking on the following thread or asking on there:

If you ring to cancel your contract, you will more than likely be offered a loyalty discount to stay.
In my experience there are no great savings from removing the landline though, it works out at more or less the same price. As mentioned, you get a discount for having a package. If you remove one, the price of the other goes up. So IMO it is better to keep the landline.0
