Hi
Just received this form in the post, apparently from the Office for National Statistics : Financial Institutions Proving Survey.
Has any other small business on here, received this please?...is it genuine and if so, is it really compulsory?
I've googled here and there for due diligence in case it's a scam, with no success.
Came here first before I phone the number as not sure.
Thanks in advance if anyone can shed light.
Cheers
Sue

Not aware of anything - have you got a bowdlerised photo of the letter we can look at?0

I get quite a few ONS surveys to do but never heard of this one. Give them a call - the number should be along the lines of 0300 1234 9xx.Today is the first day of the rest of your life0

If it's received in the post, what is the return address?
Surely you can just check if the address is genuine.0 -
If it says it is from the ONS it is. I have come across them for years. You end up seeing the findings on the news and the government use the results for their own things.
You will find the document is quite in depth and a bit of a pain. Fill it out, I think you can tick the box to say you no longer with the receive or participate in them.0 -

I must look for that box next time I get one! Haven't had one for a while, mind you, they used to send me the recruitment one at very regular intervals, maybe they got bored as we have very low turnover!Brassedoff wrote: »Fill it out, I think you can tick the box to say you no longer with the receive or participate in them.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

The last ONS survy I saw pretty much said 'fill me out or else'.
As robatwork says, just check the return address. A fraudster isn't going to ask you to post a survey back to the ONS!
From memory, dull but not particularly difficult to complete.0
