Hello , sorry if this question has been addressed before but a quick search couldnt find it. My partner and I live with our 3 year old daughter and currently my partner works 24 hours and we get housing benifit to cover nearly all rent. She is about to start new job of 35 hours but job is a month in hand which means no rent or income for month . Do we tell housing when we get paid or when job starts as we dont know what to do. Manh thanks for any and all help

You need to tell then now and they can sort out the payments. Remember HB is paid in arrears so it will not be as bad as you think. Your OH will need to show them her contract of employment as she will not have any pay slips yet.

Also, remember to inform tax credits about the change of circumstances.

I should budget very carefully for the next month during this period of change.
