Yes that's still the same. If you leave the UK you must sign off.
To avoid a lot of hassle try as hard as you can to not to be on holiday on a signing on day and keep looking for work at the holiday destination.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I think we will have same problem in October half term. Can cope with losing the money for that week though so isn't too much of a hassleHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

Outside the UK rule is crazy. I work all over the world, rarely have face to face interviews so me being in my hometown at any one time is irrelevant.
And to be honest, job centre are not going to find me work.0 -

It's only to avoid hassle. You can be away from your home town on a signing on day but then your JSA will be delayed you will have to go and see them probably more than once to sort it out. It's just so much less hassle to be at home one day every two weeks to sign on.:footie:

Whilst I was on JSA I had the opportunity to work abroad and was asked to go for an on location interview / induction for five days.
My then Job Advisor was fully aware of the situation. However she needed her manager to agree my time out the country and that it was not a holiday so I wouldn't need to 'sign off'. I had to provide evidence from my potential employer that is was an interview and not a holiday.
Silly rule...0
