Entered wrong details on a bank application form. Appeal decision or new application?

a bank account was applied for, but some incorrect details were entered (which was realized afterwards.).
the application was declined, and it was realized after because of the error it was declined.
Credit file is clean, uk resident etc, and this application was the first ever, there are no other accounts with the company.
Would it be better to
1) Appeal this decision, admitting to the accidental mistake for the decision to be looked at again?
2) do a fresh brand new application from scratch with the correct details?
because they have the details from the previous application, on record.
Which way would be more efficient ?

What 'incorrect' details were entered?0

if you apply again with different details a CIFAS may be added to your credit file0

how can you get your address wrong lol0

once some years back an incorrect address detail was put on a credit card application, but it still got accepted

But whatever the error they put, it does depend what you got wrong.0 -
I'd be inclined to tell them you made a mistake on the original application. They might still refuse you, being wary of the reasons for the mistake, but it's less likely to come back and bite you with the likes of National Hunter.0
