Pay Day Loan Associate Search on Credit

Having received an E Mail from Equifax that there has been an update to my credit file, it turned out to be an associate search from a payday loan company (Think Finance, who I'd never heard of until then).

I'm guessing this is a search that my ex has had carried out in an application for a loan.

Basically we have a pretty complex situation, where we purchased a house with an NRAM together mortgage some 7 years ago, we split up over 4 years ago, however due to the market we have been unable to complete a change of parties.

With the rising house prices I was looking to have another attempt at removing the ex from the mortgage in November, as my credit file is excellent, my income is well within standards multiples (With the value of the mortgage being just over twice my salary) and the anticipated equity now being about 15-20%, as such I can see no reason for NRAM to refuse the CoP.

My question is this: -

Is this sudden associate search for a payday loan likely to adversely affect my credit worthiness and what are my chances on the change of parties, having paid the mortgage solely now for 4 years and never having been in arrears?
