VW Protection Pack - Autoglym LifeShine

I am about to buy a new VW Polo and have been offered the protection pack for it - pre-delivery hard wax of exterior stain guarded interior fabric, upholstery etc. Just wondered if anyone else had it and if so is if worth £299? If not can it be done cheaper? It allegedly protects the paintwork better than standard waxing and doesn't need to be touched up. I am thinking of probably changing the car after the 3 year warranty expires (or possibly after about 2 years).

If you're changing the car after 2/3 years then don't bother! You can buy Lifeshine packs on eBay and also Diamondbrite and other fancy packs.
The valeter at the dealership - normally a minimum wager gets told to apply it. The salesman gets a fat commission for selling it, so does his manager and so on. That's why some sealant and a spray of protectant is so expensive. The man without a signature.0 -
I was offered this when I bought a new Toyota and I thought it was a rip off. Car dealerships get pound signs in their eyes.0

Snake oil in my opinion.
I've worked in the motor trade for many years and personally think these things promise more than they can deliver. I've even seen such packages promising the owner that they need never polish their car for 10 years (such is the shine) for 10 years! What a joke!
All you need to do is wash your car regularly, perferably not with an automatic car wash, and to polish it with a good quality polish. No "protection" package is ever going to prevent the paint work from being scratched/chipped.
Make sure that you either hose the car down during Winter or after the Winter season to remove all that corrosive salt and damaging grit.Lack of money is the root of all evil.

totally agree- this is a rip off, unless you have £300 to burn0
