Ipp or atol?

if i book flights and hotel with easyjet holidays i get "international passanger protection" and they use low cost holidays to book hotels but if i book flights and hotel with low cost holiday i get ATOL protection. what is the best "international passanger protection" or ATOL? what is the diffrence? And are there any advantages with easyjet holidays or low cost holidays? Confused or what!

Easyjet Holidays is actually operated by Lowcostholidays. So is Lastminute.com.

Lowcostholidays recently pulled out of ABTA, so they only have ATOL now. All decent travel agents have both ABTA and ATOL.

Out of the two, personally I would go with Easyjet Holidays as although they are operated by Lowcost, they still have the backing of Easyjet and have better customer service. I think Lowcostholidays are money grabbers and have no customer service skills at all. I wouldn't touch them and they have gone downhill over the last year.
  • Ive booked flights, hotel and transfers with easyjet holiday for october, was looking at booking another in february but noticed low cost was the same but had atol. Didnt know if atol is better than ipp?

ATOL is a government backed financial protection system run by the CAA that costs £2.50 per person, IPP is an insurance policy that you hope pays out if part of your holiday goes pop. Who do you trust more, the government or an insurer? It is more a question of whether you buy a package, in which case the organiser is responsible if anything goes wrong, hotel overbooking, accident etc. or you buy a Flight Plus product which gives you financial protection but nothing else
