id for uni

My son starts uni this September my problem is with student finance. They are asking for A, passport or original birth certificate he has neither .
Anyone had this problem if so what id was accepted.

  • You can apply to the registry office for a birth certificate - it should be quick and cheap.

    I didn't go to uni in this country, but I'm guessing that if they've asked for a birth certificate or passport, then those are the things they will accept.

    Hi we have a copy of his birth certificate so we will just have to send that and see what happens.

    A photocopy or an original document? If the former, don't bother wasting yours of their time as they need originals.

    Do you mean a photo copy or an original certificate that you obtained from the registry office?

    When they say original certificate it doesn't have to be the one that you got when you first registered the birth but can also be any subsequent certificate that you got from the registry office - but they won't accept a photocopy.
