Do some washing machines have non-accessible filters?

Hi,

Our washing machine is a Hotpoint WD420. There is no filter panel anywhere on the front, and the manual that I downloaded online doesn't mention it! Only this:

Your machine is fitted with a revolutionary selfclean

filter, which will flush with water during

drying - therefore you may hear water entering the

machine during the drying cycle.

That's the only mention of the word "filter" in the whole thing! I don't even know if this is a filter for the dryer part of the machine or the washer part....

Anyone have a similar machine??
