Removals insurance claim - calculating the value of items

I've just moved house and a number of items were damaged due to non-existent or poor wrapping by the removal company. I'm in the process of making an insurance claim and I'm unsure how to calculate the current value of items.
Some of our items were just a few months old, others a few years and a couple of pieces of furniture are around 25 years old. We take good care of our belongings so there was very little wear and tear, if any, on our damaged items.
Can anyone advise me about how to calculate the depreciation? Thank you.

Are you claiming on your insurance or the removal company's? Most home contents insurance is 'new for old' so they will replace with equivalent value if bought as new today.
If you are claiming under the company's insurance - they may send out a loss adjustor who will calculate that for you.

and most removal firms insurance is "Indemnity" which means they deduct "wear and tear".0 -
Sorry, I should have said that I'm claiming from the removal company's insurer. They have sent me a claim form which asks for original purchase price, then the "value at time of loss, less allowance for age, wear and tear".
They have also asked us to provide traders estimates for repairs or replacement. I've no idea where to start with this as we have 30 damaged items on out hands. I imagine that getting quotes for mending broken furniture will be simple enough; not sure about my squashed formal hat or ripped light shade though!0
