im so annoyed.
i changed my bank detail for tax credits/child benefit 5 WEEKS ago. wheni opened a new account as i am on a dmp and the ££££ would get eaten up by the overdraft.
so when my 4 weekly payment came through where did it go? the OLD account.
i rang them up and got sum snotty bi**h on the phone saying they have my change of details on file and cannot tell me when it wouyld change as it has not been processed.
once i had calmed down i rang again and spoke to a lovley bloke who said that there was a 6 week back log. he said it should go into my new account next time.
why does it take so long? i told them i cannot access the ££££ for my daughter . all i got is tehre is nothing they can do about it.
i asked for a complaint form in the end.
anyone else had this problem?

It's a common problem, the staff on the Tax Credits Helpline have no idea when COCs will be processed, as the computer just holds them in limbo.
It might not be the information you want to hear, but there absolutely is no way to tell when the COC will be processed - and the first member of staff you spoke to was 100% correct in explaining there is no timescale for the backlog to be cleared.
The second member of staff seems to have told you what you wanted to hear in order to get you off the phone, however. There's no guarantee that COC will go through any time soon. It might go through tomorrow - it might go through next week - it might go through in two or three months. There is no way for the Helpline staff to tell."Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."0
