Special Question no doubt! can Tinnitus be brought on with driving

Currently think I have pulsatile tinnitus flare up

Someone mentioned Tinnitus can be caused by long distance driving, (which I've been doing for a couple of months now) is there any truth in this

Got to say I feel ok when driving (could it be anxiety of the road I just don't know) but just wonder if this one of many a possibilities? that I should be considering

Why not go to your GP for a proper diagnosis, particularly as pulsatile tinnitus, if it is that, relates to changes in blood flow detected around the ear, which may be am indication of a more serious issue.

If by 'long-distance driving' you mean driving a LGV (Large Goods Vehicle) then I doubt it as modern trucks are little different in noise level and vibration to cars.

The old-time truckers became what they called 'diesel-deaf' - if you went into an old traditional transport cafe, they were all shouting at each other, above the noise of a non-existant engine.

A few months driving is unlikely to do anything like that - but of course you MUST see your GP asap.

I still 'shout'....don't realise I'm doing it....family forever taking a pop at me for it....

Another thing of the past? Cold cabs? Howling draughts? The tartan rug over the engine hump?
No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......
