What happens if the driver that hit you swears black is white that you did not have your indicators on? He/she would say that you turned into him from the nearside.

That's what worries me. I just wish I had a recording to what the driver said to me immediately after the accident, but I don't, as that would that the indicator was on.

I'm presuming the claim was settled, with the other party admitting fault?.

If so. The issue is over, chill out. Overtaking at a junction will be enough to make him at fault anyway.

    They cannot claim against you.

    £500 sounds about right.

I'm surprised they didn't offer you a packet of quavers and a kitkat though!

The claim is not settled yet. I have been told I will get £500 less my excess which I may get back if the other party is held responsibile.

However if they decide to go 50/50 as there were no witnesses then I will only get £75 back from my excess. Plus I am sure my premiums will go up for my next policy as I have been involved in an accident.

I am still waiting to hear who is being held responsible.

search Autotrader for same car and age; search ebay 'completed listings' too.

Also pistonhead, gumtree, and one make owners clubs and forums.

    Its a 20yr old Fiesta.

Unless they have had it gold plated, £500 is a good offer.
