Mending cracked 'plastic' lawnmower casing

My lawnmower is working very well but the casing is badly cracked. I'm wondering if I could save myself the cost of a new mower by somehow 'sticking' the casing back together. I have been using gaffer tape but, as the broken bit is under considerable strain, it won't last very long before I have to replace the tape.
I'm not sure what the casing is made of, it's some sort of hard plastic. As the mower is about 20 years old, it can't be a very new material. It is an Atco Admiral if that helps
Does anyone have any idea what the best way to mend this would be please

It is the deck unit, either fit replacement deck (second hand) or scrap it. Do not try repairing it with glue and do not leave it as it is. If the motor breaks loose it could kill you./You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0

Can you bolt, screw or rivet a plate over the cracked bit to hold it together?0

OH used something like this http://www.loctiteproducts.com/products/index.pl/epxy_putty/overview/Loctite-Repair-Putty-Multi-Purpose.htm on the motor housing of our 10 year old electric mower. It didn't look great, but did the job just fine. It was pretty solid, but I'm not sure how much it would cope with the rigours of a petrol mower. hth0

If the mowe is working well and you have been using gaffer tape for years why change? As Closed says you could try epoxy.0 -
