Reminder of changes to fee structure

Really? I get a certificate from Ebay that I hand over at the Post Office and they stamp all my mail and I go on my way;)

The best thing we are finding is that bigger orders for multiple items are going up where customers are intelligent enough to know the overall postage will be cheaper even though it's not included in the item price.

I expect if I start listing items with all inclusive/'free' p&p, buyers will simply start wanting to collect ...and want a substantial discount as they never took the 'free shipping' option.

Personally, I always look at the all in item PLUS shipping = the price.

Do most buyers honestly think £100 p&p free is cheaper than £90 plus £10 postage? :question: ...Surely not!

Most buyers don't have rational thoughts. I think on the Ebay and Amazon advice on MSE, buyers are (or at least were last time I looked) advised how to search for items with free postage

Can anyone help with a query,if a buyer pays for their item and you have over estimated the postage charge so want to refund a buyer,would you still pay Ebay the fees on the original amount,so in effect if I refund a buyer some postage then I will be out of pocket as I will have been charged fees on the original postage charge?

Correct. But you shouldn't be guessing at postage in the first place.

The buyer choosing to buy or not buy isn't extortion. The buyer should consider if they're happy with the total price of item and p&p.

'Excessive' p&p was many sellers way of getting what the item's worth by being charged fees on the item only. eBay creates the rules that create the behaviour.

I didn't guess,it was too complicated to explain exactly what happened so I simplified it.
