Car horn not working

Hi all
Looking for some more help, this time with my partners car. Basically her car horn does not work, we changed the fuse and its not that. When you press it we can hear a clicking coming from the fuse box, but no noise. When we removed the fuse there was no clicking at all.
Anyone got any ideas, or is it a garage job?

Horn relay ?Be happy...;)0

Potentially yeah, looks like a garage job really0

The horn is often in a difficult to see exposed place - behind the radiator grill or low down behind the bumper where it gets a lot of road crud and salt in the winter.
Check for corrosion on the terminals (most likely they will be the push-on 'spade' type) or a detached wire.
If you can hear a 'click' that is probably the relay itself - so I would discount a fault at the horn-push at the steering wheel.0 -
Horn itself I expect.0

Just tried to have a look, but can't get under the car so she will take it to garage to do a job we could probably do for nothing :-(
I have another question: I have a ticking noise when i press the cluth down which has been 'diagnosed' as a gear box problem to which I need a new one (separate company said its not the clutch). My question if, if I pay the £300 total for a new gearbox (second hand + labour) and the ticking is still there, where do I stand?0 -
This ticking noise is likely to be the clutch release bearing. Or alternatively it needs only adjustment of the clutch pedal.
Does the clutch engage/take up/bite as soon as you lift your foot off the floor - or does the pedal need to be nearly all the way up before it bites?
Does the ticking stop as soon as the clutch engages.
Get some more opinions before paying for a gearbox change.
If the clutch itself is working fine (not slipping at all) and the gearbox is otherwise OK I might be tempted to leave it for now if it's just a noisy bearing.
Leaving the bearing to tick for a while more is unlikely to damage any other components or make the job any more expensive in the future.0 -

I took to a company that specialises in clutches and they said it was fine so likely to be a gearbox problem.
The clicking is when I press the clutch down, when released it is fine. Funny thing is, when pressed and I turn the steering it is fine.
The bite point is quite high.
Also I do have problems putting it into first sometimes and also at times it crunches when putting it into reverse.0 -
I would still get a 2nd opinion.
It still sounds to me like clutch adjustment - but not all are capable of being adjusted.
Needs an expert on your particular model I'm afraid.
Good luck.0
