In a word - no! You have one less child to pay out for - so why should there be an increase in child benefit?0

Thanks for your reply . I did not think that I should .only wanted to know if this was the case.0

Doesn't it, though?
If you have 3 children, you get more for Child 1, and less for subsequent children.
So you get £X for Child 1, and £Y for Children 2 and 3.
So when Child 1 becomes an adult, you should then get £x for Child 2, and £Y for Child 3....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Sort of.
While you have Child A and Child B at home, and meeting the other criteria for getting CB, you get (per week):
Child A - £20.30
Child B - £13.40
Total - £33.70
When you only have Child B at home, you will get £20.30 per week for Child B. And that's it.
So, you're getting more per week for Child B, but less money overall.
I'm not sure that any of that made any sense!0 -
Thanks everyone . So child b, should have child benefit increased from 13.40 to 20.30.0

Sorry, that is incorrect.
When you are no longer claiming for No.1 child, No.2 child then becomes No.1 child and gets the higher rate.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Apologies - I stand corrected!0

Yes it does, assuming you are no longer receiving CB for the eldest child (being pedantic I know, but the fact that they have left home does not necessarily mean you are no longer getting CB for them IYSWIM).0
