trying to get mortgage credit problems

hi all,

i'n trying to get a mortgage but don't have great credit

I had some previous problems with my debts but have worked hard and paid off everything.

But am struggling to get new credit to improve my rating due to previous defaults

I did in jan successfully get a capital one card high interest one with a 1,500 limit and now been increased to 1750,

I have a new job and earning enough money to comfortably pay it back.

so this is olny debt everything else settled over last 18 months but credit card companies keep saying no and discussed mortgage with bank they said as a customer of theirs there happy have saving to cover small deposit and fess sa.ary will cover mortgage comfortably but they failed me on a credit check due to having previous defaults

is there any thing else I can do to improve rasting

as said only borrowing is new credit card £1,750 perfect history no missed payments pay at least £200 a month owe £800.

here is problem

Have a satisfied default from Capital one on an old credit card defaulted and satisfied 2011.

HSBC registered a default against me in 2012 on an old bank account for a punial amount of £51 I paid off within 28 days but there debt collector didn't pass the money on for a week so default stayed on filed as paid after 32 days cheeky gits.

I have asked it to be removed but they argue I have interest on the account then a charge so they defaulted.

Al have a 3rd default form Halifax on old credit card defaulted may 2012 I have satisfied but will go against me for a while.

also one other default small amount again issued 2012 satisfied 2012

I know I was silly had money problems was pricvatley renting with friends for 6 years and got let down a few times on the money side so had to cover rent etc and didn't have a very well paid job at the time so fell into debt a bit

credit file is fine apart form these like I said no debts what so ever have 4open accountsno missed or late payments between them
one credit card 2 bank accounts and one contract phone

just trying to open a new credit card to try improve rating until defaults are older

do I need to wait 6 yrs??

Do you need to wait 6 years to do what ?

You improve it by spending on the card and paying it off fully, dont let your bank account go into minus figures so run it well, budget accordingly for bills etc.

You've already been advised as to how your history will impact on your chances of getting a mortgage: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4667123

I'm afraid the only option would be to wait until all your defaults drop off your credit file.

Was only just over 2 months ago the OP was given advice and they have asked the same question again.

OP nothing will have changed in the 2 months since you last asked.
