Travel Insurance and Asthma

Hey everyone
This is my first post so bare with me, i'm sure this is the right board?
Looking for travel insurance for me and my partner for when we go away to USA in October, but he has asthma. He's never had any attacks or anything since i've been with him which is about 2 years, but he does occassionally use his inhaler.
I dont want to get a policy and not have him covered for his asthma just because, you are better safe than sorry but I didn't realise this classes as a pre-exsisting medical condition with most insurers which jump the prices right up!
Anyone had any previous experience and has some advice as to where to go or what to do?
We were going to open the Nationwide Flexplus account for £10 a month which would cover us worldwide as well as a lot of extra features we would use, i.e mobile phone insurance, etc.
But I don't think they'll cover his asthma by the looks of it.
HELP PLEASE!

You don't want to be paying USA medical bills if this condition flares up severely while you're there. So you do need to disclose the condition and ensure it's covered.
My eldest paid £12 a year extra for similar cover. Another thread in the 'Overseas Holiday' section uncovered several who disclosed, got written confirmation of cover and also paid no additional premium.0 -
I have asthma and we recently used insureandgo they covered me for the asthma and several other conditions it was an extra £13 to be covered but as I say I have several other conditions.0
