Or 'And I bought this" :T:T
Anyone else had an unexpected in from l'occ? Had a sample of divine cream through the post with an offer of a free divine gift with any divine purchase. Add this little sample to the stash, along with the other 10 divine cream samples :rotfl:
I don't know if I told the story, but I recently received a big pile of free samples at a local l'occ boutique. I had popped in to pick up a present for my grandmother (the cherry shower gel, body lotion and hand cream, as she had liked my mini hand cream) when my ears pricked up. There was a very opinionated lady, who told the sales assistant firmly that she wanted the free gift at the till (one of the usual bags of items with a purchase over £35) but that she would not spend £35 to get it because 'nothing else here is worth it'.
Said lady then proceeded to ridicule the customers before her, who had bought several large bags worth of goods, saying 'well it's those Russians, coming over here with all their money and showing off'. I will note, this lady herself had a rather strong accent that I had assumed was French.
Sales assistant smiled politely and made a murmured comment of not all people being the same, whilst she packed the customer's order. Said customer then proceeded to a vile xenophobic rant about people from 'there' coming 'over here'. I rolled my eyes and was about to stop biting my tongue when the sales assistant very politely pointed out that she was herself russian and a student, and she could assure the customer that whilst she adored l'occitane, she would not be working on such a beautiful day if she herself was wealthy. She said all this with a beautiful smile and wished the customer a wonderful day.
I waited until the customer in front of me left and then told the sales assistant that I felt the woman had been vile and I had been about to step in when she had dealt with it so very well I realised I didn't need to. I pointed out that she should not have had to put up with such comments and thanked her for being so lovely to me, when I would have been very rude and grumpy after such comments. The SA gave me a lovely smile, and said they had a couple of samples she thought I should try; didn't realise until I had gotten back to work that she had popped nearly 30 samples in my bag. :A That lovely girl certainly has my loyalty :T0 -

Benefit dandelion Blush 100g
Huge Boss Orange 30ml
I used the dandelion blush down to the very last. WDBA, this is an HG. I have two cream blushers, two lip and cheek stains and a bright pink mock dandelion blush to use first though!
Hugo Boss orange was lovely but a little light for me, I like a perfume with a bit more weight (Chanel Coco is my favourite) so would probably not buy again, unless I get it in a set to layer the scent
I have used dandelion before and do like it although my all time favourite Benefit powder is Dallas. Have dug this out of my handbag this week to remind myself to use it and mine now has a hole at the bottom where the pan is showing through. Am hoping for a Benefit Flash Sale soon!moneyless_mac wrote: »UU
Sachet Elemis skin nourishing shower cream - the jury is out on this one I have lots of minis still to use so will decide after I finish them.
I seem to be drowning in this one also. In an attempt to try and get through lots of shower gel before Christmas (was informed by MrM that it's 100 days away - eek!) I have opened four shower gels at once so I can alternate them. So I have Philosophy Raspberry Sorbet, Philosophy Pumpkin Pie, Elemis Frangipani and Bath and Body Work White Citrus open.VALM - that AVON mascara wand does look a bit unusual, if any of my customers order I will report back with how they get on. I have two of the lip crayons coming in the next few weeks, they were a prize for meeting a makeup sales target.
I did order the rose and nude colours of the crayons in the end. I don't think there's really much hope for me at the moment. Although today I managed to wander through Home Bargains, Boots, TBS and Savers and not buy a single thing.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

this came with PCM cream as part of a value kit and I use this anyway.
and 3 freebies.
I had a small pot of these in my stash that I think I got as a GWP. I gave them to Emma this week as she has a lot of small pimply type spots at the moment and it is working well as they are now looking drier. Will have to try and find something for her to use as an alternative when they are all gone though.rogueylawyer wrote: »I have two cheaty UUs: two divine cream 1ml samples. Has anyone seen they are now offering more free samples without purchase at the boutiques? Am staying away as I can't just get free samples and walk away in there!
Yes, I've been sent one of these through the post by them also.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Good to see you back. Hope your son's health continues to improve. Take care xx
Welcome Twisted Cherry x
So having now caught up with the thread I do have another two UUs to declare which are :-
Elemis Gentle Rose Exfoliator. Have some more in stash though at the moment I am using us a tube by Urban and Vida facial scrub that came with a Glossy Box. I like the tea tree smell but the small grains don't really do much for me - feels like a paste but waste not want not.
LE superbalm - one of the small pots. Have opened another small pot and after that have plenty of OPI Avoplex in my stash to use.
In the same vein as the shower gel indulgence mentioned above I have opened another mascara - my BadGal brown. Don't think I've had this one before. The wand is fantastic. May be another thing I'll have to look out for on any future Benefit Flash Sales.
Take care everyone and enjoy the rest of your weekend.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Welcome back And :T and welcome twisted cherry :j
I love this thread, it's a real community.
1 UU for me:
124: The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Conditioner 60ml - WNBA, used this in 2 washes as didn't feel moisturising enough for my hair. May have some more UU very shortly as lots of splutterers.
I too get very excited by UUs and frantically look around for what will be UU next
Edit - I can't update my signature either. Wonder what's going on.0 -
I'm going to have to start a new thread 'no buying unnecessary jewellery supplies when I have a stack sitting waiting to be used'...
I've definitely replaced one obsession with another0 -

Ha Ha since joining this thread, I've already checked my stocks of cleaning products - it's just as bad as the health and beauty... I wonder is there a thread for 'Not Buying Cleaning Products! :laugh:0 -

Welcome to this happy place, lovely people who hang out here.:D
when I packed up to house move two years ago it became apparent just how much cleaning stuff we owned, been working though it all and had to buy very little to date, but as I am only 5'3" and the cupboard is very high, I do find a few forgotten items occasionally:o:o
Roguey, do you need us all to crack the whip to get you making things up, Christmas stock for your web shop perhaps:rotfl:The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Another UU this evening -
125: Sanctuary Foaming Bath Soak 250ml - WBA, I like the smell of this and it bubbles up a bit which I like.
I also hoard cleaning products but have been trying to use those up too. Magazines are another problem for me, I hardly buy them now a days but a few years back I loved them. Have piles of them that I have never read but can't face throwing them away.0 -

Funnily enough I started one about a year ago, but it was only And and I that really got involved in it...and then I got a Costco card. We now have a pantry/cleaning store in the garage!Welcome to this happy place, lovely people who hang out here.:D
