chimeny stack supports

Hi we're about to move into a house it originally had a chimney stack run down either wall, one side has been removed, the home buyer report has spotted this and asked about the support for the stack that's off,

The stack has been reported as correctly supported and this was done years ago, when I get into the left what would the signs be of this and does it need to be checked on a regular basis?

Just want to double check the evidence really on completion day.

    You should be able to see a big metal bracket fixed to the wall inside the loft which is holding up the remaining chimney stack

    Known as 'Gallows Brackets'. They don't need checking.
    Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

    Easy spot huge thing (depending on size of chimney)looks like the coner of a gallows. Could be made of wood or metal.

    Hence the 'gallows' bit!
