moving in and need to set up Gas/Electricity
Options
Can anyone help me I need to find a supplier for gas and electricity, its a semi detached small 3 bed house, its got a combi boiler and electric oven if that makes any difference, and need to find the cheapest suppliers, I've tried moneysupermarket but its all guess work and there quoting well over 115 for both per month, I'd have thought it would be sub £100 as only in during evenings/weekends
Can anyone help how i'd find a more accurate and cheaper price?

When you move in you will get the same supplier as the previous owner.
You can then move if you wish but there is no need to panic now.0 -
oh I thought I would not be tied to there supplier and could pick my own I just looked and there on Britsh Gas I found a good deal with Scottish Power, so would I get charged by British gas to change?0

All you have to do is ring BG the day you move in and register with them on a standard tarrif and give them your opening meter reads.
You are then free to start a switch immediately although the switch will take between 3-8 weeks though its normally around 5 weeks.
You would only get charged by BG if you were daft enough to register with them on a tariff with exit fees....that's why you should request to go on the standard tariff.

You should register and give opening readings to BG on the day you move in. Use a comp site with your estimated annual kWh usage. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
