I want to do a visual inspection on the belt to make sure everything look good. I can get the engine cover and timing belt cover off to have a look but can on glance at the two overhead cams only. Was wondering if there were any procedures to manually crank the engine round so I can inspect the entire belt?

With timeing belt just change them if your unsure of the conditions or getting close to its schedule change date0

Put in top gear, handbrake off, and push the car backwards or forwards. Make sure the ignition is off before pushing just in case!
Obviously, you need a fairly big (and flat) work area to do this.0 -
Good point joe.0

It's the inside ribbed part of the belt that needs the most scrutiny but you can't properly check that with the belt in situ.
When was the belt last changed ? If it's near to schedule or you don't know just change it !0 -
The cambelt will probably look fine, it will be your tensioners that will go first on most occasions.0

easier to jack up one of the driven wheels, stick it in gear & turn the wheel by hand
Still make sure the ignition is off though0 -
