poor you
im on 0 hours tonight about 3 last night and im back on school runs today
going to go all the way through and try asnd snuggle up in bed with OH at 8pm and try and sleep The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -
I agree with audio books - they have me asleep in minutes!
Not boring ones though as that has the opposite effect! Same with films - I only fall asleep during the ones I want to watch!0 -
I haven't been to sleep yet tonight. Sons will be up in about 2 hours.
I do have trouble getting to sleep but I think this has been the first completely sleepless night this year.0 -

Basically, choose some music that you like but only ever listen to it when you're trying to sleep/resting. After a while, your brain will make the connection between the music and sleep time.
Having said that, any kind of routine is good, whether it's a warm bath, reading a book, meditation or anything else. Your brain can be trained to learn when sleep time is.
I might try that one.
You've reminded me that I used to have a clock radio when I was a teenager and always fell asleep listening to the peaceful hour on radio city.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
The radio on quietly sends me to sleep in the morning, not at night .
When my son was a small baby still sleeping in our room we took a kettle to heat his bottle with us when we went to bed. The noise it made usually sent him back to sleep, sometimes until morning
. Same son has a diagnosed sleep disorder.
I've taken a nytol equivalent the last two nights after a row of particularly bad ones, but it's reminded me of why that's a once in a blue moon "remedy". They make me drowsy during the night, so that I'm more relaxed although not asleep, but by day two my brain is not working properly.
Spender, I agree with you about living with it. It's easier doing that now I'm retired so sleeping later in the morning after drifting off at stupid o'clock usually doesn't matter, though that's a double edged sword as sleeping later in the morning is bound to have a knock on effect at night. No sleep plus work / children in the morning is no fun. Those still at that stage have my sympathy.. . .I did not speak out
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me..

I always make sure ive had enough to eat (nothing worse than going to bed hungry)
If i find that i have a lot on my mind, or just cant sleep i turn on the fan i have in my bedroom, strangely it always seems to work!0
