Yahoo email notification (iPad)

I lent my iPad to someone recently so they could check their email - on its return my yahoo.com a/c pings a sound notification every time an email arrives. Have had a look at the options available but can't see how to disable this (I haven't downloaded the app despite repeated attempts to entice me - but I wonder if the other user inadvertently did?). I realise I could just turn the sound off but I don't want to have to do that as I routinely use multiple tabs. Any ideas?

Not a big deal in the scheme of things but really irritating me :(

Bumping this because it is driving me up the wall now. Can't see any options to remove the notification sound even on the laptop. Someone plse help, before it gives me an aneurism.

I feel like Pavlovs bl**dy dog, every time it pings I cannot resist looking! This is what comes of wearing a bleep for years, total mindless conditioning :o .

  • Have you gone into setting, and looked under notifications, choose the yahoo app and see if it gives the option to disable notifications.

    Just a thought.

Is it checking their yahoo account or yours? Do you check your email from your ipad? I wonder if they have set up their email address but not in a specifically yahoo app - I would check everywhere that looks like it might be an email app and see if their details are in there.

Oh, and do you have yahoo messenger? I used to use that for notification for my yahoo email account.

    Thanks all.

I finally got rid of it - went into my iPad settings and had a play with my mailbox sound settings. Although why it should have picked up on my yahoo a/c when its not set up as my mailbox I don't know. Just glad that I can function now ;)
