honeywell room thermostat clicks at 21

why does it click when moving the dial ?, is this the temperature of the room ,there is no heating on. I know if i set it to 20 or whatever temp that is the temp that shuts the boiler off , but why does it click

    yes that's the temp, when you turn it up it will click that is turning it on, turn it back down it will click that turns it off, it has a microswitch inside thats what you can hear click, some of the newer ones are electronic & don't click
    I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

    so as it starts to get colder outside , and the room is colder i can expect to hear the the click at a lower temp.

    Yup.

    It's the point at which the bi-metal thermostat is engaging/disengaging :)

    Just to add, over time with bi-metal operated thermostats, the switching point may drift slightly. They can be re-calibrated (requires opening) or you can just replace the thermostat with a new digital one.

    Some people don't look at the setting on the dial but just turn it clockwise/anti-clockwise until it clicks!
