  • Afternoon all, I have a quite huge entry for today.

Yesterday afternoon my gf and I blew all our avios on a holiday to celebrate our anniversary. We booked 4 days and 3 nights in Disneyland Paris with a 4 day pass to the parks including breakfast and our flights, for a grand total discount of £300, leaving us peanuts to pay ;) As thats the saving for both of us, i'm going to declare 1/2 of it, as my saving :)

Emma, I wonder if he has access to BT telephone directory or something and has found a way of finding your real details?

I had someone once call me and I had never given him my number, this was a guy who wanted to date me. I asked where he had got it from he said he knew someone in BT and he asked them to look it up for him!!!:eek::mad: needless to say we did not date!
  • in a separate note, I have also spent the last week shuffling my credit cards which had all begun charging ridiculous amounts of interest, as my 0% balance transfers had all run out.

I had tried taking out new cards but sadly been refused too many times, and didn't want to cause excess damage to my credit rating. But 2 of my existing cards offered 0% for 12 months on balance transfers.... so using an "empty" card to move things around, I have been able to transfer balances away and then back after 48 hours to get the existing balances essentially dropped to 0% from the 16-19% i had been paying for the last couple of weeks.

This is going to save me around £140 a month in INTEREST ALONE!!!

However, it has cost me around this much in transfer fees to shuffle the different balances.

So for this month there is no "real" saving. but it means for the next 11 months all my debt is at 0% and whatever I pay off will directly lower my total. Also, in the shuffle I've actually managed to clear a few cards and so can close those accounts. So there will be a rejiggle of my siggy to show that all my debt is now contained to 3 cards and at 0% ;)

fantastic! now this is real inspiration. so you can throw money at just one card, instead of multiple cards. :T and get it paid off quicker.

Exactly! For some reason the great deals on 28 month 0% cards just aren't available to me at the minute, but having bought a house, a car, and taken out £11,000 of debt to do up the house, all in less than 2 years, it doesn't really surprise me lol.

This will buy me a year to pay off as much as possible. Cut up some of the now dead cards, and hopefully in 12 months time be in a better position to card tart any balance that might still be lurking ;)

I was paying £240pcm between 6 cards, and £140 of that was pure interest. So now I estimate that in the 12 months i've wangled, I reckon I could clear £3,000 .... possibly more if I chuck my cashback payouts at them aswell ;):D

The snowball calculator said it would take 17 years to pay off my debt with all the interest, doing this will hopefully bring that down to 3 years (or less ;) )

  • Evening all. No money made. Went to doctors. Turns out i have shingles (didn't know about rash on my back till the doctor pointed it out). So basically, i'm not well, and doubt i'll make my target this month now. *sigh* going back to bed :(

OOOOOh Noooooooo! My mum had that a few years ago and was feeling really poorly - stay in bed and look after yourself! Hope you feel better soon xxxx

Wow Fairy well done what do you blog about? I love reading other people's but wouldn't have the discipline to do it myself - that and the fact I've nothing particularly interesting to say :rotfl:

Not much happening for me today no eBay sales ending etc but been doing surveys and clicks etc hoping that these will help in future months

Now if blooming direct line would get round to confirming the £40 cash back I earned via TCB back in April then I would be laughing at this months target but alas it is still showing pending
    CC debt Aug 2018 £50.2K
    CC debt Nov 2018 £48.6K
