Cross line wallpaper

I want to wallpaper my chimney breast which was recently plastered and sealed (mist coat then standard coat) so it is in good condition.
The Nina Campbell wallpaper recommends cross lining the wall but I can only find conflicting advice.
Any recommendations? I also need a 'good quality adhesive with a preservative for medium to heavy papers'.
Thanks

If the chimney breast plasterwork is in A1 condition you don't need to line it, just make sure the you're breast is well sized.0

cross lining helps stop the edges of the paper from shrinking and showing0
