Something Stupid on my car V5 form
Options
Hello everyone,
I have just moved house and I have re-registered my details on the car V5 form. The new form has come back to me with my new details on...However!.....
I must have ticked "new owner" and it has come back saying I was the previous owner, infact I am still the owner!
DVLA has written to me saying I am no longer the owner but the new document has my new details...
Should I be worried!? Or do you think all is OK?

Ring the DVLA, takes about an hour to find the right automated option (most dead end at a recorded message and hang up) to speak to a person.
They will issue a new V5 with one less previous keeper.
Happened to me I got 2 V5s, one with my name on twice, as my V5 didn't arrive after 6 weeks, so I applied for one, then both arrived within days.
(Or don't worry about it, you are still the keeper, but it has one previous keeper)I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

They have added another (new) registered keeper to the list.
The only problem is that more keepers almost always equals a lower selling price.
Even if the new buyer can see that keeper 1 and 2 are the same person (because the V5 shows the previous keeper's details), they will know that when they (the 3rd keeper) get the V5, it will only show the 2nd keeper's details (you) and so as far as any subsequent buyer is concerned it's had one more keeper than it really has. How much that matters depends on how long they intend to keep the car.
I'd get DVLA to correct the mistake. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

I've had this happen to me too. I sent the V5 back with a covering letter and it just got returned to me unchanged.0
