if I deleted again, did reboot, and then went I went to regedit and did a delete of all files for program , then reinstalled it , would it work or am I missing something

There are several folders that Windows puts files in. I can't remember them off the top of my head and I'm using Linux at the mo, but (after uninstalling again) have a look in your user folder... and the "Application Settings" folder and see if you can find any "leftovers".

If that doesn't work, you could try using an application that monitors software installations to help you completely remove them. Uninstall the program you downloaded, and then install one of these applications (or something similar), before re-installing your program and the update that you subsequently obtained.

help us out a bit what is it? However if you have a copy of the original version installer Revo uninstaller may get rid of it for you, but don't mess with regedit unless you have a very good backup. Also it may jst be that having uninstalled it it may not have removed its folders in your Application Data/Settings folder (under your user name in users) try renaming that folder to Progname.old and then re-install the old version...but you haven't given us much to work on.

Ahh... If you're having problems playing the files, you might like to install VLC -- it's a media player with enough built-in codecs to be able to play almost any video format.

Or, if you're having problems with the software you're using, Video DownloadHelper is a great (incredibly easy-to-use) add-on for Firefox that can download streamed video. And it's free! :money:
