direct debit indeminity claim on closed natwest account, help??

i previously had a natwest account since 2003 but natwest decided to close my account around 2012. upon closer inspection of the whole account transactions iv realised there is a number of direct debits in 2010 which i have no knowledge off.

so i took the info to the branch and they simply said that because the account is closed they cannot do anything. is this correct?? as i dont beleive this to be true because direct debit guarantee is indefinate and the suspected fraud happened while my account was open.

please sumone help :(:(
