Dual Fuel or Indiviual Suppliers
Options
Hi,
I have just been shopping around for a better deal on my current Scottish Power deal. The best dual fuel saving I can make is £77 per year
I thought I'd compare that to individual suppliers and was a bit shocked to find that I can save around £137 per year. :T
I thought that dual fuel supply was supposed to be cheaper!

The Regional electricity companies tend to sell gas cheap and traditional gas companies such as British Gas tend to sell electricity cheap.
The suppliers still rely on people not switching and as so many people still remain with the traditional electricity provider and British Gas then it makes no financial sense to them to drop the rates.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Agreed, British gas are offering me the best deal on electric supply. NPower are offering the best deal on gas.0

It really depends who is cheapest.
I guess if you were short of cash, having single suppliers would mean you could not pay the gas bill and not have your electricity cut off as well, etc.
Dealing with 1 company screw-up is probably easier than dealing with 2.0
