Companies that deliver clothing to China - anyone help?

Hello from China - it's amazing where MSE can reach! However this is a serious question and apologies if it's on the wrong board. I'm in Northern China, near the Mongolian border for a year teaching. I didn't know where I was going to be sent to teach in China until I arrive at the company's headquarters otherwise I may have been slightly better organised.

It can get down to minus 25 here, in fact it's not terribly warm tonight! I'm wondering whether anyone knows of a company that I can buy on line from and that will ship out to China - which is relative as 99% of clothing is made here. However I am a UK 14/16 and it's going to be impossible to buy warm clothing here. The nearest city (Xi'an) is a six hour journey away and even then I'm going to struggle to get a coat/dressing gown or even jumpers. I'm more than happy to pay for extra shipping costs to a company if they offer a shipping service to China.

I wondered whether anyone has been in this situation? Strangely there is a company that will ship out toilettries but I can't find anyone who will do the same with clothing - any advice very gratefully received!

Can you not get a friend or relative to buy the clothing here, package it up and have it shipped out by a regular courier company like Fed ex?

Hi have you tried looking on ebay, if you use the UK site there are lots of business sellers who offer wordwide postage.
Just be aware that on top of any delivery costs there may be import taxes to pay before the item is delivered

I can get my parents to ship stuff out for me, which is not a problem, I just wondered whether I would be able to buy the goods here in China from a UK company to save them the hassle. I hadn't thought of the UK ebay, there is a Chinese version but of course - it's in Chinese - and the sizing would be to small but I'll check on ebay now whilst I still have internet connection!

Oh, and these are very warm:

And so are the matching long johns. I know they are for men, but they are much warmer than any of the women's thermals.

And if it is very cold, you can wear more than one pair of long johns under your trousers, but I find the tops too bulky to wear more than one.

I am literally sitting here almost in tears - I cannot thank you enough Susie for that link - and to you quizzical as a dressing gown and thermals are the things I need most - I've been on the UK ebay and I can get a coat and jumpers from Hong Kong. And the postage is fine, more than fine :-)

I'm 5kms from the Mongolian border - romantic isn't quite what I would say as it's a real industrial city I'm working in, but it's an experience that I am really enjoying, just dreading the minus 25 winters!

Thank you everyone, problem solved, I can't tell you how grateful I am for your posts.

Oh, great to hear from you Alyth.

Marks do lovely thick duvet coats, or have done for the past couple of years. Perhaps your family could post Primark thermals, cheap and effective.

LandsEnd are famous for their down coats and I'm sure they deliver all over the world.
