we want to take the LO to a sea life centre for his birthday but which one is best and also has other stuff around it?
his birthday is the friday so we were thinking of driving down after school and then coming back sunday evening so we need something to on sunday morning it will be the end of november so nothing outside
prefer it to be within a 4 hour drive of milton keynes and with reasonable priced b & bs near by

The only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 5

Have a look at weymouth....its also got a big viewing mast next to it (similar to london eye and other things that let you see for miles)..which you can buy a double package ticket for...although I think its still quite expensive.
B&B's are very plentiful in the area and some reasonable places to eat too...Theres a reasonable park and ride on the edge of town with a premier inn next to it and also a beefeeter,so from that angle I think food/accomodation can be very good...beefeater do a great breakfast where kids eat free!
Other than that it pretty much your standard seaside resort...a bracing walk in november can be quite nice.....frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -

I don't know where they are all located but we recently went to Scarborough on a day trip. We didn't visit the sea life centre but there's a beach nearby - not the one directly by it as it was just mud, we had to drive round the corner and the kids spent the day on the beach splashing in the sea and eldest (13) we bought a crabbing bucket and he caught several crabs. The tide came in quickly though! We also walked past a park that had 'gondolas' on you could hire.
I should imagine you'll find plenty of B & B options at any of the seaside towns, especially if it's when most kids are back at school.
Edit - I missed his birthday was Nov. I'd try somewhere that has inside tourist attractions just in case the weather isn't good.0 -
Paignton has a lovely zoo, a sea life centre at the end of of Torquay harbour, Brixham Harbour has boats, a copy of the Golden Hind which you can go on (not sure of opening times), we tell my grandson it's a pirate ship.

The Weymouth centre has a water park inside too so is more of an all-day attraction (although more expensive).
Definitely check for vouchers before you go as there's all pretty expensive full price, but there's always offers on. This week I've been given sea life centre vouchers from poundland and tesco. I'm sure if you search online deals you could find more offers too.0
