Had a Humax box for maybe 4 years or so now.

Two days ago an update software prompt came up on the Smart TV screen which I OKed.

Since then I'm getting flickering between a lighter and darker screen. It's noticeable but I had to tell my wife about it before she noticed it. So that's how bad it is or not.

Can I roll back the Humax update somehow???

Of course it may well have been an update for the smart TV, I didn't notice if it had a Humax or an LG header to it, so is it possible to roll the LG update back as well????

Make and model of your Hummy?
If the flickering is not present when you switch the PVR off and watch TV through the TV tuner, then it's not a Humax issue.

If its an LG Smart TV then it might be it's "ECO mode"
Eco mode lightens or darkens the light levels depending on the surrounding light levels and what's being played on screen.

Are you sure it was a Humax update? those usually happen at night and their has been no Humax Freeview or FreeSat updates transmitted this month.

what's the model of the TV?

    Humax is FOXSAT HDR
LG TV is LA 620V 42''

Flickering only started after update which I'm not sure is from LG or Humax.

Can I roll back the update?

I've a Foxsat HDR no updates for that since the Olympics >_<

Not sure if you can roll back updates for the LG

Here is the latest firmware for your TV:

    http://www.lg.com/uk/support-product/lg-42LA620V

check to see what Firmware version you currently have
    press "Settings" on your remote
    go down to the "?"
then select "Products / Service info"
See what the "Software Version:" is

    Also check the following
Go to "Settings" then select the "Picture" icon
see what the "Picture Mode:" is set to!
If it's "Automatic Sensor" change it to "Standard" or "Vivid" and see if the screen still gets lighter/darker

An easy way to find out if it's the Humax box or the TV would be to unplug the Humax box from the back of the TV and just use the TV connected directly to a terrestrial aerial.
If the image still flickers, then it's the TV.
If it doesn't flicker, then the issue is with the Humax box or the connections/cables it is using.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

Don't have a terrestrial aerial anymore but I could swap the Humax for an old sky box which is working on another tv. Been a bit lazy to do that what with changing connections etc but I'll give SOlitaire's suggestions a go first.

It appears that it only happens on ITV3 and ITV3+1, I'm still checking that though.

The software version is: 04.00.13 doesn't say what the latest might be or when it was last updated.

The picture was set to auto sensor, I've re set to standard so see if that changes anything.

    Thanks for the help.
