blu ray player update

Hi Sorry if Iam being really thick but Would anyone be kind enough to help me with a blu rayer update? Ive downloaded the update but dont know how,to extract the files to put it on disc. I cant do it via internet as it says you need,a ethernet cable that I dont have. Also that my blu rayer is one side of the room and hub and phone socket and hub etc,is at the other.Thankyou

an ethernet cable is cheap to buy and would be the easiest way.

otherwise, you will need to create an upgrade cd that you put in the blu-ray player to preform the update (assuming your's allows this)

i know old dvd players used to work like this, but as all blu-ray players have ethernet connections to update, they might not be able to

for ethernet, all you need to do is buy a cable that'll reach from the hub to the player. plug one end in the hub, the other end in the blu ray player and it should work fine.

doubt you would need more than 20m if its in the same room.

the cable only needs to be temporary, nothing wrong with just laying it right across the room while you do the update

Depending on the Blu-Ray player you might just need to stick the update files on to a USB stick and plug it into the player and turn it on.

You might need to put it in a specifically named folder for the update to run.

if we know the make/model we can help you more
