PPI Claim -Nationwide using scare tactics?

I recently put a PPI claim in against Nationwide, and they responded pretty quick saying they were looking into it. A few days later I received a letter saying I needed to go into my local branch with some I.D so they could progress my case, which I did the same day. I had no problems in the branch and they were actually very helpful, although I was expecting to be questioned about my PPI claim, I wasn't.
Anyway, a few days later I received a letter asking me to call them and speak to "Marco" as he would like to discuss a few things about my claim. So I rang, and I was told I would be put through to Marco. After waiting about 5 or 6 minutes on hold I was told Marco was unavailable and he would call me back. So I left it 10 minutes and rang again, as I thought it was a little bit fishy... Anyway I was told the same thing, Marco would call me back. I asked if it would be today and the advisor said probably not, it's been 3 days and still no call from Marco...
I thought the original request asking me to go into the branch was strange, as I've made several PPI claims and I've never been asked to go into a branch or even call anyone. So, I'm now thinking that maybe asking me to go into the branch and then call them was a tactic to put me off pursuing my claim. Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this??
Thanks for reading, I look forward to your replies :-)

It is not an uncommon request where signatures are missing or differ from on file.I'm now thinking that maybe asking me to go into the branch and then call them was a tactic to put me off pursuing my claim.
Yet you said they did no such thing.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. If I was in your position I would ring and ask for Marco's full name and the position he held in the bank and ask for an appointment to speak with him face to face. If this was not possible I would ask for a specific time that marco will be free to talk on the phone. If this doesn't work you will need to go to the financial obudsman.
Hope this helps.2008 won £5119.04 :j

I am sure that if you were happy to drive to Swindon, he may well do that.If this doesn't work you will need to go to the financial obudsman.
