Paying car tax
Options
Does anyone know if you can pay for car tax with a credit card at the post office? I know you can online but cant seem to find an answer for whether or not you can do it at the post office.
Hopefully wont need to, but am waiting for some funds to clear and until they do things are a bit tight so thinking it might be easier to put it on a credit card for a week.

You can tax it online with a credit card, they sting you for a transaction fee though.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

I paid for my VED yesterday at the post office and used a credit card. Was a £2.50 charge to do it though.
Won't be doing that again. I only did it because I'm still waiting on the full V5c and the VED runs out tomorrow. I would usually always do it online.0 -
I know you can do it online, but we have only just moved so our address on the forms is still our old one. Shouldn't be too much a problem if our money hasn't cleared I guess I will just have to pay cash and then if needs be use credit card for petrol etc..

£2.50 online via credit card. As credit cards take a few days to clear and they give you the tax disc in your hand immediately they may not accept credit cards as the payment could later bounce. The harder one works the luckier one gets!0

They accept cheques and they are more likely to bounce than a verified credit card payment.
If payment later bounces, you'll get a letter from the DVLA asking for payment anyway.0
