Hi all this is my first post but have been reading a while.
In 2004 I bought a property with my partner, in 2006 he lost his job and on my hairdresser wage we got in difficulty and fell behind on the mortgage. we got a ccj in 2007.
We sold the flat nov 2012 and the money left was used to pay the arrears off but I never recieved anything to say the CCJ was satisfied so do I need to contact anyone about it?
Also my partner has around 14k of debt and very severe depression he lost his job in november and it was a brilliant well paid job so we have fallen behind on everything bar the rent.
after sitting with citizens advice and lots of thought we have registered for an IVA with playplan for my partner and I have around £1000 of debt which we have set up a debt management plan for.
Ive started an open uni course and hoping to go to uni next year to do nursing and go on to become a health visitor in 5 years, and my partner starts college on tuesday doing an i.t course.
So hopefully in 5 years we can start to repair our credit and give the children the things we want to .
im just worrying about the ccj

If you are in arrears with debts now and going into an IVA and a DMP, I'm not sure why you are worrying about a CCJ that is almost 6 years old and therefore will drop off your credit file anyway!
Was the CCJ in connection to the mortgage? Have you checked your credit file to see whether it is still showing or whether it is satisfied?

I wasnt sure if the ccj goes 6 years after satisfied or after getting it. yeah was in connection to mortgage arrears,
Ive never looked at our credit file as i think it would upset us too much0
